I told you I will make a Nutella Tart ;).
This is a copycat recipe from one of the famous menu in EwF (everything with fries). Normally i would come to EwF for a good supply of fries and dessert. Their dessert menu is nothing out of ordinary. But is it so satisfying and homey.
Nutella Tart is one of their most favorite dessert that they are famous for. I’ve been wanting to make it myself. Since i just found the best chocolate shortbread recipe that can go along with the nutella cream very well, I think it is time for : Nutella Tart.
Yield 5-6 (3 inches tart)
Things you need:
For the Crust:
- 1 recipe of the chocolate short bread
For the Filling:
- 75gr dark chocolate
- 150 gr Nutella chocolate
- 300 ml Whipped cream
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 tsp salt
For the glaze:
- 2 tbs whipped cream
- 50 gr chocolate
- 1 tsp corn syrup
- 1 tbs water
Things you need:
Make the cases. Roll the dough in between 2 cling wrap to 3mm thin. Put the dough into the tart cases, cut the edges, tidy up the dough and make sure it fully covered the case. Make some holes on the tart bottom with forks, this will help to make the air bubbles escape easily when you bake the case. Put the cases in the fridge for 30 minutes. While waiting pre-heat the oven to 170 C.
Bake the cases for 25 minutes (or until fully cooked), take it out from the oven. Let it cool down in the casing for about 10 – 15 mins. Once cool enough, take it out from the casing, and move it to the cooling rack to cool completely.
Make the filling. Pre-heat the oven to 170 C. Put the chocolate and nutella in a big bowl. Set aside. Pour the whipped cream in the saucepan and heat it up until it is almost boiling. Pour the whipped cream into the chocolate, let it stand for 2 minutes to let the chocolate melt by it self.
Mix the warm whipped cream with the chocolate, make sure there are no chocolate lump. The mixture should be smooth. Then add in the egg, one by one, mix them well. Add in the vanilla and the salt. Once ready, pour the filling into the tart cases and bake them in the oven for 15-20 mins (or until the chocolate filling is set).
Take the tarts from the oven, set aside.
Make the chocolate glaze. In a small saucepan bring the whipped cream to boil, remove from heat, pour it on top of the chocolate. Whisk to combine. Mix in the corn syrup and water. Set aside.
Take the tarts, pour the glazing on top of each tart evenly. You can let it cool in the fridge for at least an hour or you can also serve it while it is warm.
Personally, i like to eat it while it is still warm and soft ;). Yum.
Note: to add a bit crunch in the middle, you can add chopped hazelnuts or almond in the filling :).
